Chichester Food Fair success for Better Tomorrows
Volunteer Waste Prevention Advisors from Better Tomorrows continued their Love Food Hate Waste campaign during the weekend – giving out advice and utensils for measuring spaghetti and rice that can save users £50 a month.
Better Tomorrows, an independent community interest company that promotes sustainable living in West Sussex, sponsored the Chichester Food Fair for the second year running.
The volunteer advisors talked to some 1400 people over the three-day fair, giving them advice on a range of waste issues, including cutting the amount of food we throw away, composting and food waste digesters.
John de Mierre, Chairman of Better Tomorrows, said: “The fair is a celebration of the best of local food, making it ideal for us to get across the need for us all to put the lid on the amount of food that goes into our dustbins".
“A number of visitors to our stand told us how effective they found our measures and scoops for ensuring they cooked just the right amount of spaghetti or rice".
