Home composting also allows you to add material that cannot be collected as part of your green waste recycling service. This includes fruit and vegetable peelings, tea bags and eggshells.
You can even put in small quantities of cardboard when home composting (loo roll tubes help to aerate the compost). By home composting you also keep this raw kitchen organic waste out of landfill.
